A regular day about a week ago (or perhaps it was more ... BO!) I buy, as usual for years, my little alternative music magazine (the mere fact of buying it makes me feel less pretentious) with the usual puzzled expression from the newsagent (because in my area, if I don't shell out the cash for this magazine, no one gives it a second glance) ... and so, between a croissant and coffee, I start to flip through it ... my glass eye lands on a particular review (five stars) ... I read that this CD is made by the guy from Fugazi (mhhhhh ... since the Whitestripes, I've been intrigued by duos who do everything themselves). Existential question: but weren't Fugazi some kind of punk band? Consequently, what the heck (poetic license) is it doing in the pop section??? Curiosity bursts like a fart too long hidden between the buttocks ... so I buy it and don't wait to get home (I've got a car stereo CD, but let's be clear, I drive a crappy Micra) - 1st listen: wowzzZOO !!! It slips by effortlessly on a gloomy day (but not like Battisti) - on the second listen, I bless the well-spent euros as an atheist (I admit ... it had been some time since I listened to such an interesting album) ... twenty meters from home, I decide to take a longer drive to listen for a few more minutes!!! Ahhh, I forgot that of course the Fugazi are on this album, although on a more mature level... If I could decide on the best track, I would say, without risking sounding exaggerated, that they are all great tracks... what else is there to add??? Since that day, I can't get it out of my ears ...

Tracklist Lyrics and Videos
01 Shelter Two (03:07)
Went Out route seven,
Stopped at Samadi sweets
We stood at Shelter two
And listened to the trees
Went to Arlington Hardware
To buy some electrical tape
You went to Tulsa
And I'm going to wait
It's all downhill from here
We keep on climbing but we never find the top
It's all downhill from here
04 Crude Bomb (02:18)
Balancing a body on the ground
Seems harder to do on two feet
Than to do face down
And enemies must be all around
Because even on this street
Someone got shot down
Crude bomb
06 Mt. Pleasant Isn't (02:17)
Landed here uninvolved
Questions there unresolved
You cut your hand as you threw
The push the shove came to pass
The battle planned real at last
But not the one you though you knew
And anger takes place of what's destroyed
Mt. Pleasant isn't anymore
In the end what went on
Was not about right and wrong
Despite the charges that people threw
Empty shelves broken glass
The battle planned real at last
But no the one you thought you knew
And anger takes place of what's removed
Mt. Pleasant isn't anymore
The police will not be excused
The police will not behave
All too much is lost in anger and never enough is saved
And anger takes place of what's ignored
Mt. Pleasant isn't anymore

The album expresses, denounces, and protests without needing to scream, conveying feelings without too many artifices.
The balance lies between the typical power of Fugazi and an inclination towards enlightened pop with sweet intimacy.
