Hello everyone. I'm new here. And I'm shy and sensitive. So go easy with the insult-comments at the end of the review because I might be affected, and then you'll have to pay for my session with the psychoanalyst.

The album in question is by the Eternals, a fairly unknown group from Chicago that plays a bit of whatever comes to mind at the time. Obviously, there is a common thread, and it's quite clear, but the punk attitude is still present. The genre is a funk-dub-hiphop where bass and keyboards stand out, while believe it or not, the guitar doesn't exist! Except for a sample in track no.5 ("Silhouette").
The drum rhythms and bass riffs will make you nod your head quite a bit, the vocalist has almost no vocal range, and this is beneficial in the context of the album. Just listen to the casual and repetitive chant of "High Anxiety" to understand what the album is made of. Then there's the dancehall-dub-punk with distorted keyboards and killer bass in "Space Dancehall", the tropical vibe made up of vibraphone and slow, smoked voice in "Bewarness" (ending with a tail of free-noise explosions). There's the funky curse of "The Beat Is Too Original", the funk-jazz of "King's New Emperor", and the build-up for hip-hop vocals and drums in "Gussy Up Yourself".

The overall impression is of living a spy story where things you deemed impossible happen every fifteen minutes. Elusive to classifications.
Beautiful
