The Dream Academy were a British trio formed in London in 1983 by Nick Laird-Clowes, Gilbert Gabriel, and Kate St John. Best known for the 1985 hit Life in a Northern Town, they released three studio albums between 1985 and 1990 before disbanding in 1991.
