Another live album of neo-psychedelic music, this time featuring the Cult Of Dom Keller, a quartet from Nottingham, UK, consisting of Ryan Delgado, Neil Madsen, Jason Holt, and Al Burns. Titled 'Paradiso Is On Fire' and released in a limited edition earlier this year, first by Eggs In Aspic from Newcastle Upon Tyne and later on Sky Lantern/Cardinal Fuzz, the album was recorded live in two sessions at Het Bos in Antwerp on 11/17/2016 and the second at Paradiso in Amsterdam on 11/19/2016.

The quality of the recordings is not exactly the strong point of this release, but those who know this group and perhaps have had the chance to listen to them live know that this is a limitation only to a certain extent because Cult of Dom Keller is one of those psychedelic bands we would describe as ugly, dirty, and mean. Their sounds, loaded with Suicide obsessions ('Behind All Evil Is A Black Hole', 'Broken Arm Of God', 'Dead Seas'...) and garage rock and blues nuances ('Nowhere To Land', 'Shamhala Is On Fire', 'Astrum Argenteum', 'Swamp Heron'...), perhaps need the recordings to sound as if the record player's needle were scratching along the grooves of a vinyl album.

An album that perhaps adds little to 'Goodbye To The Light' (Fuzz Club Records), released last year and marking the band's consecration, yet this live performance confirms their penchant for shamanism and occultism, and that psychedelic rock and roll sound that whirlwinds into a true electrified mantra.
