THE REVIEW

OOO finally I hear something decent from this group!!

It was since 2005 with 'Come Inside' and 'The Big Jump' (contained in 'Push The Button') that I didn't hear anything from the Chemical Brothers that truly got me hooked!!

The single in question has just been released and it's another 'Electronic Battle Weapon', a series of tracks that the Chems release only on vinyl to test them in clubs, and that will most likely be included in their future albums.....

Soon there will also be a best of (another one??!?), which will include, besides their old hits, this track and another one, which we will talk about later.

Well, I have to say... after that c*** of 'We Are The Night' (go read my review again! ;), 'Midnight Madness' sounds like a breath of fresh air! Simple structure, fresh sound, great groove very catchy and funky with a really nice bassline, the essentials to return to doing what the Chemical Brothers do best: electronic/dance music that's not gratuitous (as was 'Do It Again').

I'd like to take this opportunity to talk about the other new song: 'Keep My Composure' in collaboration with Spank Rock. It's essentially a rap piece but with a really nice base, pulsating breakbeat and a really powerful bass wall. Another magnificent track!!!

Ultimately, I think that with these two songs, the bros I loved so much have come back from the pit where I thought they were lost forever...

The whole hints at great prospects for their next album as well... let's hope they don't disappoint me/us again!!!!

GO BROTHERS!!!!
