Czech rock band formed in 1968, known for progressive and jazz-rock work. Guitarist Radim Hladík (1946–2016) was a central figure. The group recorded in Czech and during the communist era used the name Modrý Efekt; they sometimes faced censorship.

Radim Hladík (1946–2016) was the band's guitarist. The band recorded progressive jazz-rock often compared to Yes and ELP in style. The communist government required the name change to Modrý Efekt and monitored associations with activists such as Jaroslav Hutka.

Review coverage praises Svět Hledačů as a radiant, symphonic jazz-rock record by Czechoslovakia's The Blue Effect. Radim Hladík is noted as a leading guitarist and the group's work is compared to Yes and ELP without being derivative. The band faced censorship under the communist regime and released strong, inventive prog-jazz material.

For:Fans of progressive rock, jazz-rock, and Eastern European 1970s music.
