"Oh oh oh oh, I got a love that keeps me waiting, oh oh oh oh, I got a love that keeps me waiting, I'm a lonely boy, I'm a lonely boy, oh oh oh oh, I got a love that keeps me waiting".
A chorus that sticks with you and never lets go, a melody to which it is impossible to stand still. This is how "El Camino" opens, the seventh album in the career of the Black Keys, a record that took its time but was released just in time to probably claim the title of the best album of 2011.
If the previous work, the highly acclaimed "Brothers", had brought the Akron duo formed by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney to popularity in the USA by winning 3 Grammy Awards and earning the respect of many colleagues, with this latest work, produced by that King Midas of Danger Mouse, their blues-rock is set to conquer the world.
A practically flawless record, composed of 11 tracks, each more beautiful than the last, among which it is necessary to include the soul of "Gold On The Ceiling", the rousing "Money Maker", the anthemic "Nova Baby", and the concluding Mind Eraser with its haunting line "don't let it be over" that instantly sticks in your head.
Finally, a mention must be made for "Little Black Submarines", the masterpiece of this album, a song from another era that will remind many of classic rock tunes like "Stairway To Heaven" or "Acqualung". Ok, maybe it's not the most original, but damn what a song!
And then if you just feel like moving a bit: "Oh oh oh oh, I got a love that keeps me waiting, oh oh oh oh, I got a love that keeps me waiting, I'm a lonely boy, I'm a lonely boy, oh oh oh oh, I got a love that keeps me waiting".

It’s simpler than you think to make an album that gets in your head without scratching, and the Black Keys teach us how.
When you start with a first hit like 'Lonely Boy,' with that dirty and heavy guitar, the crunch that explodes in your nostrils and ear chambers.

"Weight of Love is the track you’d never expect at the start of an album, a ballad that has the dust of the desert."
"Like a shrimp walking backward, the Black Keys remind everyone who they are, but only after confusing and partially demolishing what they have achieved so far."
