THE REVIEW

It really seemed that the burning Californian sun would never manage to warm the black heart of Pall Jenkins and Tobias Nathaliel.
Yet we fell in love with their first three albums - immediately after the breakup of the partnership called "3 Miles Pilot".
And yet we turned songs on the brink of the abyss into the soundtrack of moments in our lives, a perfect metaphor for alienation from an everyday life on the verge of neurasthenia.

However, sooner or later in every existence arises the need for new urgencies, and the San Diego guys must have realized this. After all, you can't live eternity always being caressed by the breath of desperate melancholy.
Sometimes it is also necessary to stand up, turn up the volume and look - even if blinded by a light that dazzles us - beyond your past, to reach, in the circle of life, the present.

"Amore del Tropico" - from the title itself, an explicit declaration of love towards the boot - makes use of a whole series of new instruments, all to the advantage of a varied and captivating ensemble.
A soul album, therefore, where soul should be understood as the spirit of togetherness that lies at its foundation?
Or, simply, a sunny album, in the sense imagined by BHP, where you almost get lost, caught off guard by rhythms and sounds that exude a sweet melancholy full of colors?

The difficult verdict is left to posterity, also because, after all, melancholy can be so wonderful and, sometimes, preferable to a cheap happiness.
