LA RECENSIONE

Walking under the leaden sky of Varese, a friend asks me if I know The Black Dahlia Murder. I reply no, and then he pulls out a CD "Nocturnal" and strongly advises me to listen to it.

Once home, driven by curiosity, I dive onto the trusty player and hit play. A brief ambient intro and then... hell. Out of the disc comes a death monster with black blood flowing through its veins but which possesses a soul with an extremely catchy spirit in pure metalcore style.

From "Everything Went Black" to "Warborn" my ears are submerged by icy riffs and insane double bass drumming. The vocals are something magnificent and moving. In fact, the vocalist Trevor Strnad easily switches from powerful death growls to higher pitches that bring to mind majestic black metal.

In conclusion, a very good album that I recommend to everyone.

(have mercy, it's my first review)
