The Faith Healers recorded this excellent and forgotten debut "Lido" for Too Pure in 1992.

They were superficially categorized in the Shoegaze movement with which they have little in common. The group plays fast Noise Rock, with much of Sonic Youth and various clones in their ears. They have definitely listened to a lot of Kraut Rock, I suppose early Can. Listen to the amphetamine-laced version of "Mother Sky".

In tracks like "Don’t Jones Me", the German influence (it’s not a disease) becomes evident. The same chords repeated in a loop with a singing style that lazily repeats the same verses, making everything even more hypnotic. Guitar improvisations that veer off theme, tied together by a solid rhythm section. A roller coaster where the voice transforms from a sweet lullaby into a raucous song.

A relative tranquility returns with "Easy Being You", a sweet prelude to the long "Spin 1/2" where the guitars and monotonous vocals remind me of Spacemen 3's "Sound Of Confusion".

In short, another great album, perhaps naive but definitely worth revisiting.
