With this album continues the apocalyptic era of thrash metal, which began a year earlier (1986) with the various masterpieces "Master Of Puppets", "Reign In Blood", "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?", "Game Over".
It is an extraordinary debut from the "youngsters" Testament, devoid of any slowdown or pause. The pinnacle of violence and rage is reached throughout the album’s entire duration of 39 minutes. A true apocalypse of ultra-fast and powerful sounds that shakes the metal world and professes the band’s great skill.
The high technical level of the band is like "the lamb" sweeping away hesitation and breaking down the doors of the metal dimension.

Lethal guitar solos, muted cymbals, cursed riffs on the maximum edge of speed.
The usual Billy makes the difference: this time he emits few growls, enhances every track and delivers incendiary screams. It is he, while furiously and intensely screaming, the representative figure of Testament, raw and furious as never before in this debut album, which only suffers from not optimal production. The young Skolnick and Petterson form a pair of guitarists that never give respite.

The tracks are relentless and give no outlet to your thoughts of mental and physical tranquility. "Over The Wall", "Burnt Offerings", "C.O.T.L.O.D.", "Alone In The Dark": it’s history, friends.
"The Legacy" will make you "hunger" for thrash metal; it will make you want to "fight-mosh" with the first person that comes your way; it will bring the "metal plague" to your ears and kill you brutally with every single track. To stop the onslaught of this masterpiece you have only two alternatives: either press the "pause" button on your stereo and go get a glass of water to calm down, or beat your stereo with a baton! Nothing in the world can stop such onslaught, come straight from the deepest and most evil hell to annihilate the earth, as prophesied.
