LA RECENSIONE

One day, while wandering around Myspace, I stumbled upon Terra di Nessuno by chance. After listening to them, I gathered the courage to contact the band to ask for permission to review them. The Cagliari-based Terra di Nessuno are entering the music circuit with a very respectable demo CD. A review in a well-known specialized paper magazine, an appearance on the same stage with Holy Martyr, various important live gigs on a regional level. Obviously, this hasn't brought the band to success, in Italy the Festivalbar stage still rules, but certainly it has brought them to a high level of professionalism.

"My moto" (the title of the CD), although anchored to the classic styles of heavy metal, brings back to the 80s precisely. Not that Terra di Nessuno have joined the many imitators scattered around the globe; after all, their sound is quite personal, but it's clear that influences from some historical bands of that era like Metallica, Exodus, Saxon, and Megadeth, in an inviting cocktail, are evident. The merit of the Cagliari quartet is that they manage to blend well the metallic sound of past years. The not-so-easy feat succeeds in this "My Moto".

Of the three tracks present, all excellently played thanks to the skill of Andrea Pisu on bass, Paolo Melis on drums, and the talented guitarist Gianni Tore, the tracks are truly a charge of dynamite. The powerful "Trust Well" is a killer song, with an almost industrial rhythm. X's voice intones a mighty chorus in "My Moto" and repeats with the dark and claustrophobic "My Crazy". Terra di Nessuno know how to play, they know how to compose with much more originality than many German acts that are hailed elsewhere.

The honesty of Terra di Nessuno lies in a record that deserves your attention.
