The Temporal Sluts were the best Italian punk rock band of the '90s, and with over 15 years, almost 20, of career under their belt, they remain the best Italian punk rock band in circulation.

They were born in the first half of the '90s, and while here in our underground scene pop punk was all the rage (remember that unfortunately titled compilation "Flower Punk Rock"?), they were offering (and defy all trends by continuing to offer) a scorching punk'n'roll inspired by heavyweight bands like Dead Boys and Heartbreakers, all speeded up and toughened by the lesson of Californian hardcore punk, especially Adolescents (whose song No Way they splendidly cover). And here lies one of their many misfortunes, besides being born in Italy, moreover in a remote village on the shores of Lake Como, and that is to have anticipated the return of this type of American punk rock, at least in Italy, so much so that excellent bands like Bingo, S.t.p., or Atomsmashers, all owe something to the Temporal Sluts.

The fact is that beyond their merits, Temporal Sluts remain practically unknown in Italy, despite having done several European tours and an American one supporting California's Humpers. But you know the best bands almost never get what they deserve, and if they play fast, straightforward, no-frills punk rock, well, things certainly don't get better.

Their career began in the mid-'90s and continues, with interruptions, resumptions, periods of pause, and new resumptions up to the present day (the last release dates back to 2005, and the previous one to 1999, but a new album is due out by the end of 2013), and during this period, they have released a varied series of seven-inches, a split 10-inch with the Humpers, and a 10-inch album, all released in vinyl for small independent labels, and now difficult to find.

And here comes this anthology, which collects material from most of the releases from 1995 to 2005 (of which I am a proud owner), plus 4 unreleased tracks recorded between 2010 and 2011, for a total of 15 tracks. This collection had been in the works for a long time, but for a punk rock band, bad luck is always around the corner, and it took 2 years before it was finally available, but I assure you, the wait was worth it!

It starts off great with the unreleased No Go Condition, with which they immediately demonstrate they are still at the very high levels of the past years, tight rhythms, fierce guitars, fast and direct riffs... In short, excellent punk rock'n'roll, and Rob Slut, singer and only permanent member, proves to be one of the best performers of the genre in Italy. It continues with previously released tracks from collections like the recent "Sound Of The Underground" and the now historic "First Italian Punk Contest" from 1998, from recent singles like "Music for haters" from 2005, from which two tracks are taken, including the splendid All The Revolutions I Need, one of their best tracks, moving to those from the '90s like "Don't Worry" and "Today strike".

A lot of space is also allocated to the two 10-inches from 1995/1996, "A Touching Date", the split with the Humpers, which contains another of their best tracks, the splendid Sex Pope, and their only album released so far, the excellent "Bad News Never Come Alone", with three tracks including the splendid Mafia Boys.

Anthological Disease finally allows the unfortunate ones who still didn't know them to remedy their ignorance and take home a piece of our local punk rock history and a collection of songs from what I reiterate is the best Italian punk rock band in circulation.

So I am directly addressing you, punk rocker and garage friends, you know who I'm talking about, listen to a fool and get this record, just write directly to Rob Slut at timeslut@libero.it (and I swear the only contact I've had with him was via email to order this record), and you won't regret it!
