2016 Albums Part 6:

Since 2012, I've been awaiting the "reunion" of Sam Ray with his project teen suicide. After achieving success with Ricky Eat Acid, he has revived one of the most enduring bandcamp phenomena, presenting it under a new guise and a new label: Run For Cover. The nearly 70 minutes of this work with its lengthy title is an encyclopedia of the best in lo-fi, dream, folk, alternative rock, and pop, playing with sounds, among both near and distant spectra, as if we were among cassettes, VHS tapes, and battered radios. An album that can remind one of the sounds of Elephant Six and the intimacy of bands like Eric's Trip and/or The Microphones, with a strong and decisive emo spirit. 26 tracks that rarely exceed three minutes, citation pearls from a world that still runs too fast.
