200 km/h in the Wrong Lane (A 200 km/h Contromano) was the first English-language album released by t.A.T.u.. The album was recorded in 2002 following the release of their first hugely successful album in Europe, 200 Po Vstrechnoy.

t.A.T.u. are the typical pop product created at the table for success.
And they had it...
I know... they might have little originality as "artists" but I'm sure this album is worthy of at least one listen.

Not Gonna Get Us.
The second single from the album. Good rhythm, good melody, and nice lyrics. And, complimenting the band for the base, the voices are no less; thanks to a great use of the synthesizer. The sound recurrently present in the song can be linked to that of an airplane.

All The Things She Said.
This is the song. Everyone knows it, everyone has talked about it, and everyone has sung it. A song that will certainly remain in history, with beautiful love lyrics, nice electronic beats combined with a rhythm that mesmerizes you; making it one of the best pop tracks in history.

Show Me Love.
A nice song with repetitive and perhaps irritating lyrics (in the chorus alone they repeat "Show Me Love" 20 times). It quickly redeems itself thanks to the verses and an unusual start with over 30 seconds of phone conversation.

30 Minutes.
Could be considered the pearl of the album. Where Lena and Julia's voices are more splendid than ever. A music box serves as the background for the entire song. A tremendous ballad, yet one that must be listened to.

How Soon Is Now?
Cover of The Smiths (I must be ignorant... I don't know them). I listened to the original version, almost identical to this one. The comments from those who created it initially have been entirely positive: Morrissey deemed their version "magnificent."

Clown (Can You See Me Now?)
Ignore the lyrics and listen to the music of this track. It's precisely the music that makes this song, in my opinion, the best on the album. The continuous repetition of the same phrase, the high notes that Lena reaches, render it haunting and "dark."

Can you see me now? (Can you see?)
Can you see me now? (Can you see?)
Can you see me now? (Can you see?)
Can you see me now?
Can you see me now?
Floating forests in the air, clowns all around you
Can you see?
Can you see?
Can you see me now?

Malchik Gay.
This track is completely different from all the other songs that make up the album. The lyrics talk about unrequited love. The chorus grabs you immediately; and towards the end, a Russian part with a completely filtered voice concludes the song.

Stars.
Definitely among the best. Within it are real emotions conveyed to us thanks to the contrasting voices of Julia and Lena. A back-and-forth, English-Russian, lasts throughout the song; and it's thanks to this that the song stands out from all the other tracks on the album.

The last 4 tracks of the album include the two Russian versions of All The Things She Said (Ya Soshla S Uma) and Not Gonna Get Us (Nas Ne Dogonyat), decidedly better than their respective English versions. It continues with an extended version of Show Me Love and a remix of 30 Minutes.

My judgment of the album is absolutely positive. It was the album that introduced me to the world of music (I was in the fourth grade) and will forever have a place in my stereo.
If you have an "open mind" when it comes to music, listen to it. You'll be surprised.

t.A.T.u. are Lena Katina & Julia Volkova
