THE REVIEW

tapesfromtheloop releases a new album,
8 instrumental tracks entitled
"Lost Themes From Arcadia".
This is a solo project entirely managed by William Buscicchio,
a bassist and musician from Salento.

The 8 tracks appear as brief soundtracks, but compared
to previous works, they are part of a true concept album
tied to a story that the artist wants to tell:
"a sonic journey immersed in 80s atmospheres, where technology
meets dreamy and dystopian visions, a retro-futurist odyssey between Cyber-Synth
and retro-wave electronics."

"Lost Themes From Arcadia" sounds like an imaginary soundtrack for a lost sci-fi movie,
the album moves nimbly between the vintage cinematic darkness of John Carpenter
and more recent soundtracks such as the current "Stranger Things" series.

In the single "Commodrome", the synth recalls the rhythmic synthetic pulses
of Depeche Mode, while in "Fluo" and "Neon" the ethereal textures are reminiscent of Air.
"Invaders", with its groove, brings to mind early Nine Inch Nails, and is perfect as
an intro, while "Walkman" is the most electronic and driving track of the album.
"Neon" is a brief and intense ethereal 80s ballad, "Fog", with its eerie synths,
leads to the last beautiful track: "Arcadia", which closes the circle with a piano theme
highly reminiscent of soundtracks such as Theodore Shapiro's "Severance".

"Lost Themes From Arcadia" tells a truly dystopian story (included in the art booklet)
through synthesizers and drum machines with a distinct eighties flavor, evoking a future as seen from the past and
a fear linked to the excessive use of technology and artificial intelligence.

The album succeeds in transmitting anxieties for the future, fears of what it could become:
a place where machine and organic merge, just like the little robot on the cover
(Noteworthy are the beautiful clips available on social media and the YouTube channel featuring "Will", the robot from the cover.)

"Lost Themes From Arcadia" will be available from 05/29/2026
with digital distribution,
on all major international streaming platforms
(Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Bandcamp, etc.).

The videos are available on the YouTube channel and on the website:
