Finally, the absolute masterpiece of the Talking Heads is released on CD, the live album that encapsulates the essence of their first four works, from the lucid madness of 77 to the epic psychedelia of Remain In Light.
The Name Of... contains the best of this legendary group, and it was a real shame that this work had become almost impossible to find.
Let's say right away that this new version is very appealing, with 15 more tracks compared to the original album!
It's a true pleasure to listen to these songs, these classics, and realize how genius Byrne's way of singing is and how deep his art is.
Personally, I consider this album as one of the best live records in the history of rock, not only for how it's played but also because it is the clearest testimony of the evolution of the sound that the band had developed during those years.
The album chronologically follows this progress, in the first CD you find the incredible sound between psychotic and the strict logic of mathematics of the first two works, reaching that eerie atmosphere that was the backbone of Fear Of Music.
The second CD, however, begins with the classic "Psycho Killer" (also present in the first) but you immediately understand that everything has changed, the lineup is no longer the basic one, and it includes Belew, Nona Hendrix, and all those musicians who helped Byrne realize the most incredible journey of his career, which concluded with that sonic earthquake of Remain In Light that redefined all boundaries and musical genres.
Listening to this album is an exciting and rewarding experience.
For those who have never listened to it, a tip: get it immediately, don't let it slip away, buy this album, it will teach you many things about the magnificence of rock 'n' roll!!
