Talisman is a Swedish hard rock band formed in the late 1980s by bassist Marcel Jacob and vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, known for blending melodic metal with funk-driven grooves and strong choruses.

Swedish band with American vocalist Jeff Scott Soto and bassist/band leader Marcel Jacob; both previously worked with Yngwie Malmsteen. Humanimal (1994) had differing tracklists between Japan and the rest of the world, followed by Humanimal Part II. Guitarist Fredrik Åkesson contributed the hard/metal leads. The band’s seventh and final studio album arrived in 2006; Marcel Jacob died on July 21, 2009.
