The Talco, a truly Venetian band better known in Italy and abroad than in their "homeland" with their second album, "Combat circus", do not disappoint expectations at all, and indeed they present themselves as very worthy successors of the Banda Bassotti. They indeed offer a combat-ska that is never trivial, which is quite difficult for their genre, engaged, imbued with fresh, powerful, and clear sounds.

12 tracks make up this work for a total duration that slightly exceeds 32 minutes. At first listen, it is impossible to remain indifferent. The vocals are well-crafted and never off-key, rounding off and smoothing out the sometimes excessive harshness of the sound. Certainly, listening to them can be impossible for those who do not seek committed and strongly leftist lyrics, but I recommend everyone to at least give it a brief listen, which can help dispel many stereotypes. A flaw of the album might be the poorly executed "bella ciao", which ends up too hardened in its sounds and distorted compared to its original and delicate nature.

Heard live, they manage to be captivating, and rarely do they manage to convey in the recording, which is of excellent craftsmanship, all their incredible danceable enthusiasm. You won't find sophistication and highly elaborate solos, but the rhythm will get under your skin and leave you only after the last track, the Mexican-tinged "diari perduti".

An excellent group for those who want to start and initiate themselves to the genre, a splendid novelty for those who are lovers of ska but want to move away from the monotony of groups that dominate the current market.

To Talco, one can only say, for their young age and their talent: BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!
