Takashi Wada is a Japanese electronic music artist living in Berlin and has produced three CDs.
This "Meguro" is his first work, where he imagines describing an entire day in a city during the summer. It starts with the first piece: "3 AM Cityscape", with a broad-sounding electronic style reminiscent of Jean Michel Jarre. It continues in the same vein with "Morning View", but just as you think of putting the album to rest among the many unfortunately very similar works, here comes "110th August" where the rhythm begins to permeate the city and the soul. In the next piece, "28°", an acoustic guitar appears, a faint choir, and a gradually more insistent drop à la Andreas Vollenweider that slowly becomes a true jungle with a trumpet intervention. However, the temperature is quickly lowered by the wind of "Day" and the sweet piano of "Meguro" which recalls the best Sylvain Chauveau.
With "Lights and water", we return to a more classical and contemplative style of electronic music, waking up to the percussive turmoil of "Modern Architecture" until we reach the sweet melodies of "19°" and "Sunset" which close the album. It's not a masterpiece but a high-quality production, not boring, that is pleasant to listen to, and that presents us an artist capable of creating very different atmospheres without straying from his electronic background.
