The "Smetto Quando Voglio" series begins with an interesting idea: mixing very 'American' elements such as drugs and dealing with elements of Italian comedy from the recent years, thus the classic couple in crisis, the protagonist is a bit of a loser with some loser friends, etcetera etcetera.
Here I discuss the sequel or, very professionally, 'midquel', of the first "Smetto Quando Voglio" which therefore takes place during the events of the original movie (how much I know).
Plot: our Pietro Zinni, head of the researcher gang, finds himself in prison, and outside he has his partner with their newborn child, who, incredibly, continues to endure the partner's constant efforts to justify himself (aah the power of love).
A year earlier, Alberto Pedrelli, also from the researcher gang, has a car accident caused by the hallucinogens in his system and a distraction in turn caused by a van transporting a chromatograph.
Alberto Pedrelli is approached at the police station by inspector Paola Coletti, who proposes that he reunite the gang.
In short, the gang is reunited with the aim of tracking down and neutralizing certain types of smart drugs in circulation, and in return, our Pietro will be as free as a bird and they will all have a clean record.
A good movie that manages to blend well all the elements seen before, although sometimes it loses its tone and/or has a small amount of jokes that don't make you laugh.
Like in other films of the same genre, it dwells a lot on the various characters of the gang and gives them hilarious backstories, and this was the part I appreciated the most, as I couldn't help but feel represented by these stereotypical ex-classicists.
A good Italian comedy, original and smooth, and unlike any other Italian production we've seen before.
