QUESTION: Who are SX-10?
ANSWER: Some Motherfuckers.
But in the good sense of the word.
Yes, because Sen Dog and company would take it as a compliment. And I mention Sen Dog not to refer to Cypress Hill, but specifically to this musical project that so far consists (and, I fear, also for the future) of this single "Crazy American Dog" album.
2000: Sen Dog temporarily leaves the denunciatory and antisocial posse of Cypress Hill to indulge in some healthy "motherfucker" fun.
This album is unpretentious: pure crossover mixed with softer instances of hard rock.
Thus, the leading single, that "Heart Of A Rebel" which contains the legendary nihilistic screams of bassist Frank Mercurio (damn! who are you?!) during the chorus, as well as the ugliest guitar solo in music history (try it to believe it, but it's already history), immediately gets into your head and hits like a mothafucking fist. "Noisy" tracks also appear in the form of the excellent "Caught Up In The System": protests and social revolt still find their way into the themes, but with more ironic and festive tones compared to the "skulls and skeletons" that haunt the universe of Cypress Hill.
Certainly inconclusive some episodes, especially the final tracks.
For a nice motherfucker party.
Rascal.
