Switchfoot is an American rock band from San Diego formed in 1996, known for the 2003 double-platinum album The Beautiful Letdown and singles such as "Meant to Live" and "Dare You to Move".

Formed in San Diego in 1996. The Beautiful Letdown (2003) reached double-platinum status. Guitarist Drew Shirley officially joined the band around the 2005 Nothing Is Sound era.
