Swirlies are an American shoegaze/indie rock band formed in Boston around 1990, best known for their 1993 album Blonder Tongue Audio Baton.

Damon Tutunjian is a central member. Seana Carmody was an early vocalist/guitarist who left the band and later formed Syrup USA. Blonder Tongue Audio Baton (1993, Taang!) is frequently cited as their landmark album.

Two positive DeBaser reviews highlight Swirlies' blend of shoegaze, lo-fi and pop melody. Blonder Tongue Audio Baton (1993) is consistently praised as a 90s indie landmark. The later album They Spent Their Wild Youthful Days... is noted for its nostalgic, puzzle-like soundscapes.

For:Fans of 1990s shoegaze, indie rock and lo-fi experimental pop; readers of DeBaser.

 The Swirlies are legend, anyway.
