Just another acolyte in search of young rebellious soulwomen and soulmen.

The source of inspiration was a bit Graham Parker and a bit The Jam, plenty of The Redskins, even more Dexys Midnight Runners, all people who – some more, some less – toyed with soul in Brittany.

They, however, were Californian, even though California isn't the first place that comes to mind when thinking of soul music.

But after all, even Christian Death were Californian …

Three EPs in 2011 – «In Motion», «(so)Frantic» and «The Constant» – for a total of 12 songs, plus 2 more in a 2013 single, «Lying in Bed», and then nothing more, except for all the tracks collected together in 2018 in «Constant Frantic Motion», for those who would like to easily retrieve otherwise impossible-to-find records.

The story is somewhat reminiscent of the Redskins, they too had several hard-to-find singles in just a few months and eventually the compilation album to pass on an exciting story.

The only wrong thing is the name, Suedehead, like a song from the ever so charming Steven Morrissey: thus, anyone searching for them online would have to wade through dozens of pages with useless results.

With the hope that no one gets discouraged by the slightest possibility of a connection between Suedehead, the band, and «Suedehead», the song, and its author.

And if the names mentioned at the beginning weren't enough, I strongly recommend these young soul rebels to Fugazi fans as well: so audacious and reckless, Suedehead, that they had the nerve to close their career with their version of «Waiting Room», demonstrating how even such a track could be transformed into a wild and unstoppable dance tune.
