LA RECENSIONE

Jel and Doseone had already worked together in Themselves, but in this new project they (especially Doseone, now launching towards other planets) in my opinion, give their best. They decided that the canonical means of hip hop were no longer sufficient to express their capabilities, so they recruited 4 "classical" multi-instrumentalists for this adventure. They first came out with 4 EPs named after the seasons and then this album, this meteor.

"A New White" is something new, it is the foundation on which to build music finally free from all previous constraints. It is no longer hip hop, nor rock or electronics; it's everything (this) and nothing (already heard). All the tracks are excellent, with some sublime peaks in "Silence...", a layered and disjointed piece yet incredibly complete, "Eyewash", where they approach ambient only to come out with a text as unsettling as very few others, "FKO", a more traditional song (as much as the use of this adjective is decidedly improper) but with an exceptional pull, and then "The Long Vein Of The Law", as powerful as a snowball to the stomach when you’ve just stepped out of the shower. This album (at least for the writer) could be enough to create a new genre on its own, and I think "new white" would definitely be the appropriate name...

PS: Look for the lyrics when you listen, you can find them on www.anticonlyrics.net!

"...And a day begins before and during the silence between space heaters and constellations..."
