Why there was a Hardcore-Punk scene in San Donato Milanese, a suburb south of the Milanese metropolis, in the nineties.
Happy Atheist, Vox d'Accion, Reality, and especially (in terms of relative importance) Stuntplasticpark; all bands united by ideals and hopes for a better future (!!), shouting youthful rage into a microphone and playing three or four chords without a shred of technique. Only soul, heart, and sweat.
The Stunt were one of the most promising entities of this dark and unknown scene; they lasted just a short season. Enough time to release this 7-inch in 1996, a real album right after, and little more. Completely "lost" and immersed in spectacular and colossal alcoholic binges; seen live around Verbania and I can confirm their absolute unreliability. However, they smashed it like maniacs, and that was more than enough at the time; and the good "PogoMan" in me came out in full force during their intense performance.
An angry, relentless, and furious sound; hard, compact sounds that brought them closer to the Old School Hardcore of Agnostic Front, Madball, and Biohazard (what a sensational trio I've just cited). With sudden changes of pace and melodic bursts reminiscent of Down By Law and also the post-Generator Bad Religion.
Gaba, Grunt, Max, and Fabio are the names of the four rowdies involved in this bewildering project. Six tracks collected in the mini vinyl support; for a dozen minutes played with frantic ardor. Listen to the opener "My Bottom" at full blast, and you'll find yourself stage diving off your living room table: bets are accepted. The remaining ten minutes are on the same overwhelming level... even more so given the pounding, the blows played at full speed... TELEVISION FUCKIN' DEALERS...
How awesome is the cover with Marvel characters playing and pogoing!!!
