THE REVIEW

A single word: masterpiece. With this album, I fell in love with Strung Out. To me, they are the most technical in the punk genre. An album where the word speed feels at home. Extremely fast tracks with deep inspiration.

The album opens with the beautiful Too Close To See, setting the tone for those who listen to the album. It is followed by tracks of the same depth and technical beauty, arriving at the dark Mind Of My Own. The beginning of Paperwalls is wonderful, followed by the dreadful Ice Burn. Unfortunately, to me, it's the worst song ever composed by Strung Out. But no problem, it’s followed by the absolute masterpiece: Ultimate Devotion. A song that means everything to me and represents Strung Out and their skill. A piece with stunning speed and a fast-paced rhythm. A stroke of genius for this song, with an initial solo that I’d say is perfectly fitting and, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful. The album closes with another masterpiece, Matchbook... wonderful. An album every genre lover should own.
