The Stormo, a very young band from Belluno, is making a name for themselves thanks to the self-produced mini-album for Rizoma: whether it's because of the formula applied to the 4 tracks that make up the platter (Disfonia, a short intro, is written for them by Enrico, a member of another new Italian sensation, Gli Amia Venera Landscape), namely a math-core between Botch, Dillinger, the irreverence of Psyopus and the fury of Converge, all interspersed with more properly Hardcore interludes descended from Negazione and Raw Power, or because of the average age of the group, about 19, which, all things considered, is very young for the technical skills and "strength" in delivering a unique product like this mini.

"Inconsiderata Putrefazione" is a shard where time changes, fiery blues accelerations, moments of Post Hardcore darkness, and the more "canonical" HC fatally intersect to attack: Luca perfectly fits the part of the '80s screamer on the hyperkinetic and lightning-like sonic carpet by his companions Giacomo (guitar), Simone (drums), and Beatrice, the bassist who was part of the lineup at the time of recording.

"Abbandono la mia Volontà," the following track, has a mood that draws from the cauldron of the darkest Post Hardcore productions, before sneakily veering off into the schizophrenic and sinister tangent of the most ferocious Math: - I abandon my will to a black box - these are the words before the conclusion that brings us "Quando non ci Sei," a song that seems to have come from a collection of Dillinger Escape Plan outtakes in every way, a lounge-fusion piece complete with a marranzano.

"Al Punto di Non ritorno" doesn't change a comma of what we've heard so far, it only increases the conviction that the band is managing to navigate the passage created by the forefathers of the genre quite well, with a distinctive dose of irreverence, technique, and taste that has nothing to envy from more renowned productions and in the international spotlight in the Post and related fields, a trend very much in vogue in the last two years.

We await with confidence an album that will mark the definitive rise of a group of bold and capable youngsters, who only lack an additional dose of personality to emerge definitively and start making a name for themselves even beyond the narrow confines of our peninsula. For now, let's reward them and listen to them.
