This 2025 once again proves to be a golden year for US-made black metal (Sepulchre, Collier d'Ombre, Lichen, Lazar Throne, Paimon Gate, Azathoth’s Dream, etc. etc.), as demonstrated by the mysterious project Stahlnacht, about which, in true misanthropic tradition, everything remains unknown.

After the solid 2024 EP "Reclaiming Nordic Divinity", their first full-length album has just been released in these waning days of September 2025, under the auspices of Åon Records: "Blood Victory".

This is Raw Black Metal with NSBM traits that draws its roots from the first two LPs by the Count, in the icy darkness of the best Darkthrone and the German school of Absurd and Nargaroth, but also Moonblood and Bilskirnir, with some more "melodic" guitar phrasing, bordering on Folk-blues, that brings to mind Peste Noire.

The structure of the tracks is raw and sharp: furious, iconoclastic sections alternate with more atmospheric and unsettling moments, where the tempo slows, punctuated by declamatory tones in the German language, epic undertones, and a poetic quality that lies somewhere between melancholy and the longing to redeem a glorious past, springing from the evocation of the Myth of Blood...

Also, and perhaps above all (beyond ethical judgments), this is Black Metal: a convergence of romantic melancholy, cosmic coldness, folkloric filigrees, and black fury... all kindled in the white heat of patriotic love.
