THE REVIEW

Squadra Omega is a project created by members of Mojomatics and Movie Star Junkies who, leaving the more traditional paths trodden by their groups, venture into the more treacherous paths of experimentation, brushing against, in 4 instrumental tracks, Kraut rock, free jazz, psychedelia, and math rock.

"Murder In The Country" opens the treasure chest of "Le Nozze Chimiche." A syncopated banjo loop takes us by the hand and stages an outlandish folk theater to which synths, mandolin, and percussion are added in a dance suddenly torn apart by a violent free jazz explosion, with crazy saxophones that slowly fade back into the initial banjo theme.

"Utriusque Cosmi II" is a time machine, taking us to Germany in the early '70s. Kraut Jazz. A martial, heavy rhythm on which saxes and guitars freely float, culminating in the magical "Avviso Agli Imprudenti." A universe where reverberating and psychedelic guitars create a cosmic and Pink Floydian alien atmosphere, from which continuous spoken word interferences emerge. Great piece.

"Copper" brings us back to earth. Aggressive and spacey math rock with a punk garage aftertaste.

An excellent work, and for collectors, a numbered edition in 500 aluminum copies.
