This is the most mind-bending film ever produced. If watched without specific information on the underlying concepts of the plot, it seems like an absurd film without meaning. To truly understand it, one must know at least the fundamental aspects, which I will describe in this review below.

1 - The concept of the 7½ floor of the office in the building represents the concept of personal freedoms in America, taken to the extreme. Because in America, any person can claim to have needs diverging from the majority, to which the majority must adapt, respect, but also endure.

2 - The concept of the portal in Malkovich's head represents the Cabala and is a metaphor for mind control. Because the Cabala is a powerful hypnosis practiced in sleep that makes the victim a slave unbeknownst to them. The Puppeteer represents the hypnotist, and the actor the victim.

3 - Charlie Sheen when he says - "lesbian witches - is genius", represents the concept that hypnosis in the Cabala is predominantly practiced by women, who were called witches by the Catholic Inquisition, and to this day is predominantly practiced by women.

4 - The concept of the group of elders who chose Malkovich as their vessel represents the Kabbalists, who, according to legend, hypnotized Jesus Christ, enslaving him, and made all the events described in the Bible happen. The Kabbalists are also known as "The Elders of Zion."

5 - The final part, where women prevail and men are not important, represents the concept of Judaism, where the woman is the one who counts, while men are merely participants without being the pivot of forming belonging to Judaism.

Now, knowing these points and understanding that the entire film is metaphorical and metaphysical, connected with the dreamlike vision of human existence, in its mind and human society. Everything is shown in an occult key, where all these concepts merge, furthermore giving space to psychological explorations of the main characters' traits, who are the puppeteer, the actor, the puppeteer's wife, and the puppeteer's colleague.

If you were not aware of this information, I strongly recommend watching the film again, which will now have a more logical sense.

It's a brilliant film, deserving to be watched and rewatched, and added to your video collection.
