LA RECENSIONE

Avant-garde hip hop, which abbreviated sounds like avant hop. Spank Rock from Philadelphia are getting back in the game, dismantling the current scene from within, breaking everything apart and bringing a gust of fresh and "degenerated" air.

To say they are eclectic is perhaps an understatement. The influences are many: Beastie Boys, DJ Godfather, Dizzee Rascal, Autechre, Pharell, and the attitude is to dare with a healthy recklessness, proposing seemingly impossible, unprecedented, and irreverent solutions. Thus, there is room for vintage drum machines and modern Anglo-Saxon grime, all immersed in an atmosphere of original dub, with a certain something that feels analog.

The rock'n'roll side of hip hop, something new, something old. Fresh!
