Considered one of the most important realities in the international scene of the new soul and jazz school, Soul Basement is a local group that, for some strange reason, is immensely popular everywhere except in our country.
I discovered their new album after watching the video of the single on YouTube, and I was enchanted by it.
A wonderful album, where the urban jazz in Blue Note style perfectly blends with committed and conscious sounds, somewhat in the style of Gil Scott-Heron, Curtis Mayfield, just to be clear.
Funk, R&B, Contemporary Jazz in abundance, and rather deep and reflective themes, give life to a varied and entertaining album that I truly recommend.
Enjoy listening!
