THE REVIEW

Another hardcore generation, same innovative idea, same fate. The new generations forget. Forgetting is very easy, it’s more convenient. And everything becomes "So distant". This is the title of this masterpiece of Italian hardcore punk. The millennium was coming to an end and Sottopressione gave it a worthy burial, and it almost seemed they knew the fate of their innovative nature, the ungrateful fate of the entire movement in this useless country.

Hate and loneliness accompany us in these little more than 20 minutes of listening. Guitars like punches to the face, metallic deviations, muscular riffs, and the sound of molten lead, the drums are an atomic clock (Gene Hoglan will forgive me) and the bass throbs with its own life and are slaps. Moments of true hardcore that undergo crazy accelerations as in "Essere isolato" immediately tell us what we are faced with, on the verge of grindcore, and the voice becomes harsher, turns into anger, the poems rise in volume, because that is what the lyrics of this band are. Poems. Every time I listen to them it’s like listening to Massimo Volume really pissed off after a bad day. "Ruggine" is lyrically one of the highest moments of the album, it takes you to where the sun melts things, where we find ourselves alone to die, until reaching the more "metal" moments, where hatred becomes an institution, the "disgust for others from the hatred of oneself" of "Dinamiche di cancellamento(nevrosi II)" reigns, we find ourselves facing a mid-tempo that slams you to the floor, the guitars become cast iron boulders, the voice is pure indecipherable despair of existence, and we are ready to say goodbye to this plane of existence.

The funeral of HC ends here.
