THE REVIEW

It begins with the buzzing of a fly and "I'm Jack I'm Back" this Donkey Cock, and the So Long Cock's Name immediately make things clear, theirs is the typical desert sound, the most "cazzaro" that we have come to know with Eagles of Death Metal, Fu Man Chu, and partly the QOTSA of the acclaimed "Song for the Deaf".

The sound is dry, and it is a good product considering it was recorded with a miniMac, lacking that quid typical of Josh Homme and company but knows its stuff, managing nonetheless to convey that urge to dance, especially in the diptych "Good Boy" "Pretty Animal", redundant but effective. "Lullaby" and "Catalina" are the bluesiest of the group and rightly placed mid-album to intersperse the offering, which in the second part equals the first, raw and danceable rock that will appeal to fans of the aforementioned bands, and I'm sure they will take a stroll in the desert with them as well, the album in fact is downloadable for free at their web page.
