THE REVIEW

Harsh Noise and Power Electronics pouring down like rain! I made use of no less than three electric guitar pedals (reverb, a nice fuzz, and a heavy distortion) to reach a level of sonic filth that will give you chills, and in this case I was inspired by underground bands and musical projects from the Japanese counterculture such as Gerogerigegege (no coincidence, that’s the name of the album), Whitehouse, and Merzbow.

The opening track “The Gerogerigegege” is scorching industrial lava throughout its 21-minute duration, with my screams in the background, full of hatred and alienation towards this world. The dick on the cover is pure Gerogerigegege style—they also loved to put balls and semen on their covers. The Japanese were pure delirium; as a matter of fact, I watched some of their live clips on YouTube and found myself so fascinated I ended up making an album about it.

The second track, “The Guillottine Sentence,” is primitive, bestial harsh noise—13 minutes of disconnected, decrepit feedback and noise, though it doesn’t reach the ferocious peaks of Merzbow’s early “Venereology” era, but I still tried to give it my all.

In conclusion, a sick and acid trip for those who love noise for noise’s sake—“This is Noise!”
