THE REVIEW

1997. The year when both "Hai Paura del Buio?" and "Il Vuoto Elettrico" were released. The first one achieves enormous (and well-deserved) success, becoming a milestone of Italian alternative rock (sorry for the word "milestone"), while the other is merely viewed as a side project of Xabier Iriondo (a huge mistake).

Il Vuoto Elettrico is an album with a rare "badass attitude", bold and arrogant, bully-like, showcasing all its audacity without any remorse, without any concern for judgment, it is what it is, if you like it, fine, otherwise FUCK YOU!!!

Listening to it gives the sensation of getting lost in a city, Milan in this case, ending up in the wrong neighborhood, encountering the jerks of the area, undergoing verbal and physical assaults, only to emerge unscathed and "buddies" thanks to your "being like them". Thanks to not wearing a colorful sweater.

Federico Ciappini (vocals) has a unique style, though raw and ignorant, it is nonetheless unique. The perfect narrator of dark and wild urban nightlife, well accompanied by that rock that was popular in those years, the progeny of Fugazi and Sonic Youth, which over time and with the production of Fabio Magistrali has become much more aggressive.

A quote might better convey the idea..

"non ho la voglia di morire adesso che

stringo le labbra in mezzo alle tue labbra,

senza fatica posso stare appeso a te

spingi la lingua nelle mie ferite"

and then...

"un altro giro l'offro io che sono bello più di Dio, ti prego vai sempre così, stanotte me lo succhi"

Lines from "Sexxstasie".

A critic two hundred years from now will assert: romanticism in the twentieth century..

I have no more words, enjoy listening.
