LA RECENSIONE

We are in Pistoia, and usually nothing ever f*cking happens. Musically, the area seems dead, but there are those in basements and garages busting their asses to compose high-quality music.

There are at least three noteworthy bands from Pistoia deserving praise: Incoming Cerebral Overdrive, creators of a very death-allic post-metal, authors of the distinctive "Cerebral Heart"; Kuirino, who mix Zeppelin-style hard rock with Seattle grunge, inspired by Kyuss and fans of ethnic instruments like the didgeridoo and bongos; and finally, Six Fold Enticed, eardrum smashers, lovers of Meshuggah and post that's not too complicated.

The band is composed of four decent musicians, but not exactly outstanding (Frank-guitar, Albert-drums, Fabio-vocals, Andy-bass). This is a demo released in May 2006, consisting of five suffocating bone-crushing tracks. It opens with "Meaningless," a song with a sick mind, just like the following "Evilized," with a riff clearly inspired by Meshuggah. "End of Sanity" couldn't have a more fitting title: it's truly the end of sanity, there's nothing rational left; what seems rational is merely a manifestation of today's irrational ways of thinking. And then come the industrial echoes at the end of the song, very "City" like (remember Strapping Young Lad?). "Trust Betrayed" is the masterpiece of the demo, concluding it in the best possible way. It's another rather strange composition, with Andy's bass in the forefront and the voice that goes on to cut the throats of petty souls who have betrayed trust (whose trust? the singer's? did they sleep with his woman? he would be right to slash them. yes, yes).

I have nothing else to add because I've already said too much for a demo review. If you find them, take your wallet out because they are worth it for being unknown. For those who don't like the genre: don't start here.
