Sieges Even are a German progressive metal band from Munich, formed in 1985. Early releases blended technical thrash with complex arrangements, while later albums on Inside Out Music embraced melodic, keyboard-free progressive rock/metal highlighted by Arno Menses’ vocals. The band disbanded in 2008 after a celebrated comeback.

Formed in Munich in 1985; core members: Alex Holzwarth (drums), Oliver Holzwarth (bass), Markus Steffen (guitar). Early singer: Franz Herde; later: Arno Menses. Released The Art of Navigating by the Stars (2005) and Paramount (2007) on Inside Out Music; live album Playgrounds (2008). Disbanded in 2008; Steffen and Menses later formed Subsignal. Oliver Holzwarth was a longtime session/touring bassist for Blind Guardian; Alex Holzwarth played with Rhapsody of Fire and recorded Paradox’s Collision Course (2000).
