GianMaria Accusani and Elisabetta Imelio are the driving force behind this interesting proposal emerging from Tempesta.

Not to be the one who highlights labels before albums, but there are some labels that guarantee quality in certain areas, and La Tempesta Dischi is synonymous with a High Level of Italian Music. Not only because it boasts Il Teatro Degli Orrori, Le Luci Della Centrale Elettrica, Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Moltheni, or Massimo Volume, but above all because it manages to turn its bands into an actual movement that is trying to set a quality for the made in Italy music scene, which hasn't been seen in our neglected boot-shaped country for quite some time.

A fairly successful product is Sick Tamburo. We’re not shouting miracle or masterpiece, but we have a decent album that tests our desire to move and dance in conjunction with the upcoming beautiful season. Miss Imelio and Mr. Accusani are, perhaps needless to say for many, the two (bugged?) minds behind Prozac + that since 1995 in Pordenone brought albums and pop-punk songs to life, making people jump in the name of the antidepressant drug, alongside the voice of Miss Eva Poles. The latter will be the only absence to record in the new Sick Tamburo project, which sees Boom Girl, aka Elisabetta Imelio, as the voice in this first self-titled release, transmitting quite a boost to the tracks.

My first approach to the group was live, during the summary concert of all (or almost) the bands produced by Tempesta in Piazza Castello in Ferrara in July 2010. On two stages, the bands alternated, and without too many expectations, I was positively impressed by Sick Tamburo, so I bought their self-titled album.
We are not talking about musical revolutions or stunning albums, rather about a pleasant listen between rock and punk with some electronic inserts to make the passive listener dance or move. All spiced up with acidic, ironic, disenchanted, and basic lyrics with the subject + predicate + object construction.
Among the songs worth mentioning: "Il Mio Cane Con Tre Zampe" which encapsulates all the ideas expressed in the following tracks, with relentless riffs, biting voice, and catchy refrains. The single "Parlami Per Sempre", which should be associated with the video if you want to find it on YouTube, represents the most interesting piece with a truly engaging refrain in an ironic yet melodically nice dance. To these, add "Sogno" and "Prima Che Muoia Ancora", and you'll make of this release a fantastic EP. There are also the other songs, not bad "Topoallucinazione", but they add nothing new to the album that hesitates where it doesn't find the right chorus, and perhaps twelve tracks containing three ideas overall are too many.

Sometimes it happens, even in the best families, to feel like a superficial and catchy album, to jump because you're happy and the sun is shining outside, or because you decide to take a trip outside the city and don't want to be too cerebral... well, on those occasions, this album might be right for you.
Without pretensions, without judgments or huffs of disdain towards those who listen to this small Italy that is trying to convince the skeptical indie audience.
