"The night is less black than man" is the new project by the Sicilian band Sibirka. An auteur rock album artistically produced by Sibirka themselves together with Paolo Messere (Blessed Child Opera), distributed by Audioglobe for the label Seahorse Recordings.
If you already knew the band and had the chance to listen to their previous work, you will undoubtedly recognize a radical change in style.
This album is a shadowy, noir album in every sense. It presents itself with a sound that straddles the line between alternative and grunge, aggressive and powerful. The lyrics are mature and emblematic. They range from songs like "Stato zero," "Il tuo segreto," or "Il cantico del fuoco," which deal with ended or otherwise tormented loves, to tracks like "Il naufragio," or "Scende la notte," which aim to document and expose the band's vision on hot topics like the tragedies of Mediterranean migrants or the degeneration of morality in our society.
Ultimately, a mature, dark, very interesting album.
