They are five, they come from cold Sweden, and sound like a classic British indie band. HHGG is the Swedish version of the album released under Bud Fox Record in 2003. A few months ago the international version of this beautiful album was released, which as I have already said, is sung entirely in English in the most original of British indie pop methods we know.
Twelve intense and powerful tracks for those who love fast-paced albums. The beautiful baritone voice of Adam Olenius is set against a backdrop of guitars and keyboards that resound throughout the album in a crystal-clear manner. Genuine, without much pretense, they compose an album that from the first track, “The Comeback,” keeps you hooked to the listening until the end... This initial track particularly opens the album well with its driving rock rhythm that gets you prepared for the entire journey.
A hint of folk/country in the second track “Very Loud” raises the attention to the listening of the entire album in its own way. A healthy indie pop bursts forth uncontaminated in the beautifully infectious and enjoyable “Shut Your Eyes.” There is no lack of modern rock 'n' roll signs as discovered in “Please Please Please” and in “There’s Nothing” where the sound becomes almost psychedelic and edgy (reminiscent of "The Strokes") only to return beautifully indie with fast keyboards in “Sound Is The World.” A great track, “almost like” the “Stone Roses,” is the beautiful “I Wish I Was Dead” which precedes the energetic “End Up Behind.”
If you are the type of person who skips through an album quickly just to listen to the best tracks, well, then you won't be disappointed at all and... this time it will be enough to just press play at the start!
