Shirley Horn (1934–2005) was an American jazz singer and pianist known for intimate, slow-tempo interpretations and a refined touch at the piano. She recorded extensively from the 1950s until the 2000s.

Born May 1, 1934; died October 2005 (aged 71). Opened for Miles Davis at the Village Vanguard in the early 1960s; Miles Davis is credited in press as an early champion of her. The album I Remember Miles earned a Grammy (review notes it was awarded for best vocal jazz album). Roy Hargrove, Ron Carter, Al Foster and Toots Thielemans appear on the album (per the review).
