Esty is a young Hasidic Jewish bride, one of the ultra-Orthodox “currents” of Judaism.

She lives in New York, her strict family consists of a grandmother, an aunt, and an alcoholic father, the mother...

The marriage lands her in a family that is just as, if not even more, suffocating. The relationships with the young husband leave us astounded.

There are truly many worlds. And strict religion certainly doesn't create the best one.

Esty's story begins from the first episode. She can't take it and...

She is portrayed by Shira Haas, a 24-year-old Israeli actress, very talented, who doesn’t fit the classic categories of young actresses who are both talented and beautiful. She has a petite, even somewhat disproportionate body compared to her head. But all the actors are perfect, as is the direction. Obviously, worth watching in the original language (a mix of Yiddish-English) with Italian subtitles.
