Rating: The King Of Kong is a documentary about one of the greatest challenges of this early century, the challenge that determined who was the first human to surpass a million points in a game of Donkey Kong.
These almost two hours that play on our screen are a one-way journey into the deep American province, that America made of unimaginable nerds and geeks who, precisely thanks to their status, have managed to become even celebrities. People who live in a dimension parallel to ours, a dimension where only Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Lady Bug, Centipede matter... People like the hateful and arrogant Billy Mitchell, who on September 17, 1999, was proclaimed "Video Game Player of the Century". These men are the heroes of the Golden Age of Arcade Games, the one represented by the first cabinet video games, a revolution that changed the lives of those who were teenagers between the late '70s and the first half of the '80s.
By watching this documentary, you will discover the wonders of Fun Spot, the Mecca of arcades around the world; of Twin Galaxies, the bizarre association that certifies all records achieved with any type of video game on any type of platform. You will discover that there are people much more alienated than you can imagine. You will discover that this is an exclusively male world: the world of Arcades is not a country for women.
