LA RECENSIONE

I am straight. Yes. At the same time, I notice that everyone else is upside down.

Let me explain: I love love songs, I hate hate songs. Sad songs make me sad, and happy songs make me happy. (A linear mind, mine, a thought clear and pure like spring water).

This site (micro world) and proportionally the whole world (macro world) is full of people who love hate songs (very heavy metal, death metal, sludge, brutal, Afghanistan doom metal etc...) and hate love songs (Gigi D'Alessio and company), who rejoice at hearing sad music (oh yes, slowcore, sadcore etc...) and get sad listening to happy music (Caribbean music, salsa & Merengue).

In short, I could go on forever, but I have clearly demonstrated it: You are not facing a distorting mirror (as they told you) but you really are those people! The strange ones are you.

And that's why, by correctly and systematically delegitimizing commonly accepted tastes as “High” though merely “Other” (and therefore erroneously considered superior), I find myself fully legitimized to praise (OUT LOUD) this album of very light swing-pop (jazzy), inlaid with lyrics that can only be a joke: “Bimba se sapessi” “Mettimi giù” “Io e Rino” and so on…in the face of serious music, in the face of lyrics to be studied at university, in the face of time, blatantly and anachronistically imbued with simple, harmless irony, a concentration of good sarcasm, only capable of scratching the surface of the prevailing propriety, a turmoil of not at all crosswise, not at all oblique, and not at all difficult diatribe.  Pop from a lounge bar, there you go.

It's a pleasure to listen to Sergio Caputo, with a cocktail in hand, reclining in an armchair with feet on the table, a sauce stain on the tank top, and a grin of satisfaction printed on his face, yes, the face of someone doing nothing special, nothing unique, and absolutely without quality, in the world by mistake and with the look of someone doing you a favor.

Here I am.

Tracklist Lyrics Videos

01   Bimba se sapessi (03:48)

Idrofobina vegetale, bevo per dimenticare
Il mal di mare
Viscerale che questo mondo mi da

Respirazione artificiale

Mentre inesorabili
Tiriamo avanti questo show
