The Profile

Sepsis (Сепсис) is an obscure Russian rock trio formed near St. Petersburg in the late 1980s, known for the 1991 album Liturgia Bezumia, a long psychedelic/space-rock suite.

Formed near St. Petersburg at the end of the 1980s and already disbanded by 1991. 1991 release Liturgia Bezumia is presented essentially as a single track of over 40 minutes divided into two suites Anglicized as "Mad Cucumber 1 and 2." The record is performed by a bass, guitar and drums trio, largely instrumental with occasional male and female vocals. The French label Musea released a CD edition for Europe in 2001.

Sepsis' Liturgia Bezumia (1991) is an obscure Russian psychedelic/space-rock album presented as a single 40+ minute track split into two suites. It blends kraut, hard rock and jazz-rock elements in an instrumental trio format with occasional vocals. Not a masterpiece, but a commendable gateway to late-Soviet/early-post-Soviet experimental rock.
