Here I am on DeBaser after quite a while.

I've missed you.

I wanted to share with you one of the most pleasant releases of 2008.

From the very first notes... actually, from the very first words, which is the original audio of Mahatma Gandhi's speech on October 17, 1931, starting with "...people do not know who rules...", there's something that gently captivates me and draws me into this album.

The quintet from South Tyrol invites me in... simply, with candor and innocence, they welcome me with open arms and offer me a wholesome green tea against the harsh cold of these times.

I won't talk to you about the more or less postrock influences, I won't extol the melancholic and evocative melodies, I won't praise the raw and minimalist sounds, I won't describe the romantic, rarefied landscapes that form in my head... no, today I'll stay silent.

Gandhi reserved one day a week for silence because he believed that speaking disrupted his inner peace. Silence helped him focus on purifying the soul and maintaining peace.
Sometimes music is just music... sometimes beautiful songs are just beautiful songs... It's true, but I've never thought that way about certain songs.
 
There are very sensitive people... excellent musicians... sublime interpreters... there are many great listeners of symphonies who listen to all kinds of music... Exactly. They listen. But I know very few people truly capable of "feeling" the music.

This album is what you've been waiting for in 2008... for everyone else there's always "Chinese Democracy".
