Hello everyone, I wanted to present some tracks. I know the artist and he asked me to review his demo. I'm not an expert on the subject, but I'll give my opinion anyway, my humble opinion.
Yes, this guy is a 17-year-old from Alessandria, the only member of this band (he composes his own tracks by himself, on a computer, so the quality isn't great). At first glance, truthfully, I didn't like his personality very much, as he indeed has a very stubborn and strong character, and I tend to avoid people like that, but I was struck by the fact that he cares about what he does. He told me many things, and I understood that prejudices are something to avoid. Exactly, upon first contact, I wasn't very sympathetic, but I changed my mind for the reason mentioned above.
Let's get to the point, (Cristian, don't be offended if sometimes I will be very harsh with the adjectives) this record, despite everything, shows that there is still someone who loves music and is committed to it, and above all, confronting the prejudices of others towards young and even more so homosexual artists is no small feat.
The demo contains 13 tracks, predominantly rock, sad, melodic, but there are also ballads with distorted rhythms and strings, very sometimes, cloying and mawkish.
Bleeding at home - after skipping the introduction, a mix of dark and strange sounds (in my opinion, I was very shocked after hearing it), the actual song enters, with distorted drums and synth introducing a good, catchy melody. The verses and rit are not exactly spot on, the intonation often is almost nonexistent, and the audio isn't the best, but after all, it's a demo, so there will have to be a ton of modifications. The lyrics are very strange, it's not clear what it alludes to, it applies to the entire work, but it seems to me to hear a teenager seeking suicide.
Fragile - this track also begins with a distorted rhythm and a background melody, a melody with electric guitar, in my opinion, very engaging, like the verse and rit, even if it feels like déjà vu, the lyrics, like the others, are not very transparent, I would dare to say, hermetic.
Burned Flowers - here you encounter a very electronic, dark track with a very spot-on melody. But in terms of intonation and everything, we're not there yet, but not everything is lost because there is talent, and you can see it. It needs to be nurtured, anyway, I find that this song is among those that show that this project can become something valid despite everything.
The last good star, 9 may 1990, the poltergeist, to the end are also very melancholic tracks, noteworthy is the melody of the last mentioned track, which makes it recognizable among many others, that's how spot-on it is. The electronic ballads with strings and distorted drums I mentioned earlier are Musical, You Can't Hurt Me, This Is The Truth inside The Lie, and Weight of the Words, nice tracks, but nothing special, they can be categorized among the tracks that don't stand out.
Burned Flowers, along with Push Me Away, and Trasgressive Tragedy's are the most catchy ones. The last one, as soon as I heard it, made me want to let loose, very energetic, push me away has a chorus that gets stuck in your brain and never leaves, and it's not an unpleasant presence, quite the opposite, but still, some intonation and a few symphony lessons wouldn't hurt.
Having said that, I reaffirm that in my opinion, there is talent even if it might not stand out to many, however, there's work to be done on these tracks, both on the modest recording methods, a cheap PC microphone, an even cheaper PC, I wasn't expecting much, but still, I repeat that the ideas and insights are there.
I'll leave the comments up to you. I hope they are positive and I hope they are also constructive. Don't be offended cry!! :)
